A base green window means that the traffic stream receives a guaranteed green duration in each cycle. This can be achieved as follows:
- The traffic stream is switched to green by a parallel, not conflicting traffic stream as a minor stream without call.
Example: IT traffic stream also switches the parallel pedestrian traffic stream to green. - The base green window is switched with an additional traffic stream. Both traffic streams have the same display element. The additional traffic stream is requested by a green flag and placed in the desired section by a request area in the frame signal plan. This gives the signal a green window at the defined time.
Example: A PT traffic stream receives a green window at a defined time regardless of whether there is a request.
