Basic information on the frame signals and the signal frame plan

In vs | plus, this guidance signal is perceived by the so-called frame signal, which is assigned to each traffic stream. The sum of all frame signals results in the frame signal plan. The frame signal plan is used to define the clearance areas for all traffic streams. Each frame signal plan contains a frame signal for all traffic streams. Two authorisation areas per traffic stream are possible per cycle (double application).

Figure 71: Frame signal plan

If the frame signal of a PT traffic stream has a hole, i.e. it is not continuous, it can be used to switch to a not conflicting direction. The influence between the preparation time and the type of a detector and a frame hole can be seen in the following table.

APCPT / ASCPT, APBPT / ASBPT, PCIPT / SCIPT are calculated depending on the remaining travelling time.

APCPT / ASCPT is executed regardless of the remaining travelling time until the end of the frame. Then as without hole.

Description

tC

Cycle time

A cycle time tC must be assigned to each frame signal plan. This must necessarily match the cycle time of the signal time plan assigned in the base of the control unit.

1 .. 250

Cycle time in seconds. In the vs | plus core, the cycle time of the frame signal plan is compared with the cycle time of the signal time plan. If there is a discrepancy, an error message is output, but the signal frame plan is controlled with the time of the signal time plan.

Prep

Preparation

The area between the start of preparation and the start of registration is considered the preparation area. In this area, the traffic stream in question can be brought forward when an PT traffic stream is registered. This means that, firstly, it can prematurely terminate the extension of traffic streams that have green in parallel with the PT traffic stream. In addition, secondly, it receives green before the normally valid start of registration. The prerequisite for this is that the PT traffic stream is requested with the detector function APC... / ASC....

0 .. tC

Duration of the preparation area.

Call

Registration

The area between the start of registration and the start of extension is considered the registration area. In this area, on the one hand, a request for registration is made so that the relevant traffic stream is taken into account in the image composition, and on the other hand, the green command is issued and thus the phase transition is started. Exceptions are only made if the traffic stream is in stage 2 or is set to soft coordination identification.

0 .. tC

Duration of the registration area.

Ext

Extension

The area between the start of the extension and the end of the frame is considered the extension area. In this area, the traffic stream must have already received its switch-on command. When it is green, it can measure. The prerequisite is that traffic is present, and the maximum green times are observed. Traffic streams with higher intervention types can abort the green before the end of the frame.

0 .. tC

Duration of the extension area.

Pnt

Pointer

vs | plus can work with up to 6 / 24 main traffic streams, which are assigned to the priority elements. As a rule, the main pointer of a priority element remains on the main traffic stream until it receives green. With the rank-dependent pointer delay, the main pointer can still be kept in the green when it is extended. With structured frame signal plans, it may be necessary for the main pointer to be held up to a certain circulation second even without extension. This possibility is given with the pointer frame signal plan.

0 .. tC

Time of the frame pointer.
