The logical vs | plus detectors are evaluated differently depending on the type of traffic stream assigned. A distinction is made between:

  • IT: The logical detectors are used to recognise a request or to extend a green. It is not individual vehicles that are monitored, but a mass of vehicles.
The request can be made by a single pulse (e.g. pedestrian push button). Other possibilities are a certain occupancy duration of the detector, a degree of occupancy and others. This functionality can be set via the vs | plus parameter.
The gap is offered for the extension. These or other options can also be set via the vs | plus parameters.
  • PT: With this type, each individual vehicle is tracked. The vehicles can request to be given the green light and sign off when they have passed the stop bar.
A pulse or a occupancy can also be used here for the request. In contrast to the IT, serial telegrams can also be analysed for the PT. One of these detectors (message point) can be parameterised as a check-out message point. With the check-out message point, the vehicle is deleted from the list of vehicles and is no longer available for vs | plus.

What all detectors have in common is the detector waiting time. As soon as a detector is recognised as requested, vs | plus starts the detector wait time. This is active for as long as the parameters allow. The detector wait time is cancelled at the latest at the start of green (IT) or a check-out (PT).
