The basic data contains information on how the control unit is structured. From the point of view of vs | plus, a complete supply of basic data contains more than is required by vs | plus. When creating or changing a vs | plus parameterisation, only a small part is required. It is important that the objects that are important in the communication between the control device and vs | plus are defined. The following objects are mandatory:

  • Signal groups and digital outputs: This defines which elements are to be controlled at the intersection.
  • Intergreen times: Which outputs can have green together? If the outputs are conflicting, it must be known which intergreen times must be adhered to so that there are no/fewer accidents.
  • Detectors and message points: What is going on at the intersection? The entrances can be used to determine where vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists etc. have calls. The more opportunities there are to register, the better vs | plus can control the junction.
  • Signal programmes: Signal programmes are only used indirectly in vs | plus. When setting parameters, you must take into account which programmes are available. Separate parameter sets can be defined for each of the existing programmes. On the other hand, the programmes are required to specify the sequence and duration in which the individual signals are to be switched during the control process.

These elements can be used to create a vs | plus parameterisation. Further information such as offsets, call points sequence and minimum green times are additional specifications that are taken into account during parameterisation.
